What is Thailand Elite Visa?

Thailand Elite is a long-term residency programme given to the Thailand Privilege Card members. It is categorized under Tourist Visa (Privilege Entry “PE”) allowing residency in Thailand from 5- 20 years, depending on the membership level.

  • How long does it take to get an elite visa?

    It takes about a month and a half to two months for the entrance examination.

  • Can foreigners buy property in Thailand?

    Not only foreigners but Thai elite members can legally purchase residential condominiums. To purchase a condominium (freehold), the foreign ownership of the condominium building must not exceed 49%. However, a foreigner cannot purchase land and houses unless he invests in her 40 million baht government bonds with a maturity of 5 years or more. It is allowed to purchase 1 rai of land only for residential purposes. Otherwise, a long-term lease of up to 30 years must be signed.
